Read Part 1 > JPJ SARIKEI: LOUSY IRRESPONSIBLE UNDEDICATED.
Ok, so now the Road Tax is available at the afternoon. What now? All those customers who cannot renew their motorcycles road tax since yesterday and this morning are already standing and queuing at the pathetic 2 counters. Read the line well. STANDING and 2 COUNTERS.
How many counters are there in JPJ Sarikei? 10 counters. Only 3 are operational. 1 to handle vehicle new registration and transfer of vehicle ownership. Remaining 2 of them are to handle Renewal of Road Tax and License. And you have to stand queuing in the line. ZOMG, 2 FREAKING LANE. Even Toto or Magnum 4 D lottery shops have more counters.
And how many counters are there in Post Office Sarikei? 7 counters. 1 are without a clerk. Another to handle stamps. So there are 5 counters that can renew the road tax. You will have to pay extra RM2 for service charge. But you can take a queue number and sit down on comfy chair while waiting for your turn.
Scenario
Let’s say that there are 11 customers and each customer will required 5 minutes to renew 1 vehicle road tax and 1 license. How long will it took for the last customer get the business done?
At Post Office Sarikei, 5 customers can be served at 1 round. 2 rounds will service the first 10 customers (2 rounds x 5 mins = 10 mins). So the last customer will get the turn on the 3rd round and will have to sit for 10 mins and stand for 5 mins. Totally time taken = 15 mins.
At JPJ Sarikei, only 2 customers can served at 1 round. 5 rounds are needed to service the first 10 customers (5 rounds x 5 mins = 25 mins). The turn for the last customer is on the 6th round. He/she will have to stand for 25mins for the first 10 customers to get their stuff done and stand another 5 mins for his own business done. Total time take = STANDING WHOLE FREAKING 30MINS.
Worst Scenario
And do you know what’s the best part? During the festive season such as Chinese New Year or Hari Raya or Hari Gawai, the amount of people will increase by two or three-fold. The queue will now have more than 10 people. And what are Malaysian do best during traffic jam? They make 2 lanes into 3 or 4 lanes. Yeah…there will also be peoples who will cut into queue lines. So a 5 minutes job will took 1 hours plus and you have to STAND for that 1 hours plus at JPJ Sarikei.
JPJ Sarikei FacilitiesChair/Bench: Yes, JPJ Sarikei do have chairs or benches. But the customers have to stand in the queue, right? So how will those facilities be utilized? Here are ways on how it can be used :-
i) Any friends or family members who accompany you can sit while waiting for you.
iii) You can sit on the bench after you get the business done.
iii) If any elderly customers who fainted or black out after waiting in the queue for 1 hour, place them on bench while waiting for ambulance.
iv) Bring a backup. Backup can stand in the line after 30 mins and you get to use the bench.
TV: JPJ Sarikei also have TV but it is only switch on less than 50% of the time.
Toilet: No, they do not have. If you need to use the toilet, you will have to go downstairs to the coffee shop. But then again you will have to queue all over again.
The Winner
Post Office Sarikei totally PWN-ed JPJ Sarikei!!! They have more counters; they can get more customer served. They have automatic queuing system; no one can cut in the lines or if the queue is too long, go out and get other things done and come back later. And they are way more efficient than JPJ. You can get more things done at post office such as water, electric, telephone bills, insurance, air ticket booking, Amanah Saham, money order, postal, stamps, OMG the list is too long for me to type…..
Solution
INSTALL THE F*CKING AUTOMATIC QUEUING SYSTEM YOU DAMN TORTURING MONSTER SO THAT I CAN HAVE A BOWL OF KAMPUA AND A GLASS OF TEH C PENG, PEE AT THE COFFEE SHOP’S TOILET AND THEN SIT ON THE YOUR BENCH WHILE WAITING FOR MY TURN. AND PLEASE LAR OPEN MORE COUNTERS, ARE THOSE EMPTY COUNTERS FOR GHOST GOVERNMENT SERVANTS? IF YOU CAN HIRE MORE PEOPLE THEN THE UNEMPLOYMENT RATE IN THIS COUNTRY WON’T BE SO HIGH.
Unfortunately this is not the end of my rants.
